Sept 22 Meeting
Tonight we started out by playing games on the Cookie Zone website. We watched a video about how the cookies are made and we voted on next year's cookie mascot. The hippo is in the lead but I hope the penguin wins! Then after everyone came we started our meeting by lighting the log and reciting the Girl Scout Law and Promise. Nina didn't like the lighter but she did it anyway!
Then we looked at the schedule on our blog. Everyone had a lot of good ideas including Hoofbeat Ridge horseback riding, Sugar River tubing, a pottery class and a cooking class. Merete, Nina, Sophie and Paris need to choose the month they would like to host a meeting. The next troop meeting is hosted by Cozy at Northside in October.
Next we looked at our new Agent of Change book and went over what we have to do before our next meeting. We are working on identifying our "powers" and need to fill in page 13 (What Makes Me Me?), page 15 (Power Log) and page 23 (make a Dream Team Trading card). If you have any questions please ask Miss Weber :-)
Lastly, we talked about cookies! We got our sheets and we are going to do another cookie booth in early November at Copps (before the weather gets too cold!). We liked the new Shout Out cookies...and they are the healthiest cookie, too. Please return the two permission forms at the end of the Cookie Program Parent Guide to Miss Weber or Ms. Mettel by Monday. We ended with our friendship circle. Shenanigans! Thanks for coming to my house. Please add a comment! by Kaden

The Calendar
Since we are just starting out the year, most of the events after Oct 20 are tentatively scheduled. Hopefully after tonight's meeting, we will have some of those things nailed down. The calendar should always appear at the bottom of this blog. Try clicking on any event, for example try the Fall Kick-off, and you should be able to view times, details, location, who is registered, carpool info, chaperones, etc..
Welcome to a new scouting year!
My guess is that the girls will figure this blogging thing out way before I do. The plan is for the girls to use this for communicating, checking dates on the calendar and blogging about what they are doing. Here we go!
